Frequently asked questions

Is InkMaths free?

Completely. No accounts, no sign-ups, no adverts, no tracking. Read the notes, download the workbooks and the card packs, and use them for your own study as much as you like. The material itself stays © InkMaths, so please link to the site rather than re-publishing copies elsewhere.

Which exam board do the notes follow?

Pearson Edexcel. Every lesson carries its 9MA0 or 9FM0 reference, and the Edexcel view maps the specification onto the library topic by topic. The Department for Education prescribes the content every English board must teach, so if you sit AQA or OCR the lessons still apply; what is board-specific is the references and the formulae-booklet tags.

Does it cover Further Maths?

All of it. Core Pure is complete, and so are all eight option papers: Further Pure 1 and 2, Further Statistics 1 and 2, Further Mechanics 1 and 2, and Decision Mathematics 1 and 2. The library lists them under Further Maths.

How do I know which results I have to memorise?

Every result in the notes is tagged for whether the Edexcel formulae booklet prints it. The equation index collects them all and puts the ones the booklet does not give you at the top, which is the list worth learning first.

Can teachers use these notes in class?

Yes. Print them, project them and point students at the site freely. What is not allowed is re-publishing the material, distributing edited copies or selling it: all rights are reserved by InkMaths.

Are the workbook questions from past papers?

No. All 167 workbooks are original, written for this library, and every answer is checked by the code that builds the book: a stated answer that disagrees with the arithmetic fails the build rather than reaching you.

Where are the flashcards?

Live. The flashcards page schedules definitions, standard results, check questions and common slips by spaced repetition in your browser, with nothing saved off your device. The same cards are there as free Anki decks and as printable packs in a navy and an ink-saving edition.

How are the figures drawn?

From code, which is what keeps them honest: a figure is generated by a program that checks its own mathematics, so a curve has to pass through the points it claims to and a computed value has to agree with the algebra printed beside it. If either fails, the build stops.

Are there videos?

Not yet for maths. The notes are written to stand on their own and do not depend on video. The sibling YouTube channel carries physics walkthroughs, and is also the quickest way to reach us about a correction.

I think I have found a mistake.

Please say so: leave a comment on any video on the channel, naming the page and the sentence or question. It will be checked against the specification and the sources and fixed. The whole site rebuilds as one piece, so a correction lands everywhere at once, including the workbooks and the card packs.

Is there a physics version?
