What this site collects, why, and how long any of it is kept. The short version is that your revision stays on your own device.

What stays on your device

Your ratings on the revision checklist, the boxes your flashcards sit in, how far through the day you are and what you have scored on questions are all held in your own browser’s local storage. None of it is uploaded. Clearing your browser data, or removing the installed app, erases it, and no copy exists anywhere else. There is nothing to sign into and no account to make.

Measurement

The site runs no analytics script, sets no cookie of its own and loads nothing from anywhere but this domain: no advertising network, no third-party tag, no beacon. What exists underneath is ordinary infrastructure logging. The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, and Cloudflare keeps short-lived server logs, including IP addresses, as part of delivering and protecting it. Cloudflare also sends the standard network-error-reporting headers, so a browser that fails to reach a page here may send Cloudflare a report of that failure, which describes the request along with the country and network it came from; Cloudflare sets out what those reports contain in its own Network Error Logging documentation. Neither is a profile of a person, and neither follows you between websites.

The lawful basis for that logging is our legitimate interest in delivering the site, keeping it available and protecting it from abuse. Everything on the site works the same whether or not your browser sends an error report.

The installed app

InkMaths can be installed from your browser and read offline. The installed copy is this same site: what you have read, how you rated it, which cards are due and what you have scored stay on the device, and the only thing it sends here is a request for the pages and files themselves, which is the same request your browser makes when you read a page. It asks for no permissions. If you install it from a store, that store keeps its own record of the installation under its own policy rather than this one.

Video and other links

Some pages link to a video on the InkPhysics YouTube channel. The link opens YouTube, where Google’s own privacy policy applies. Nothing is embedded in the pages, so nothing from YouTube loads or sets a cookie unless you follow the link. The same goes for links out to the exam boards.

Children

This is a revision site for A-level students, so most readers are sixteen to eighteen. Nothing here asks for a name, an email address or an age, and there is no account to create, so no personal details are collected from anyone of any age.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have rights of access, correction, erasure and objection over personal data held about you. In practice the only personal data connected with a visit here is what sits in Cloudflare’s short-lived infrastructure logs, which are not indexed by name and are deleted on Cloudflare’s own schedule. The site itself keeps no user records, and everything about your revision sits on your own device where only you can reach it.

Changes to this notice

If what the site collects ever changes, this page is updated first and carries the date of the change. Anything that involved holding personal data, such as an optional account for carrying progress between devices, would be described here in full before it appeared.

Getting in touch

Questions about any of this, and corrections to the maths, are best left as a comment on the YouTube channel.
